 Galileo Early Childhood Center

About

The Galileo Early Childhood Center is one of a number of early childhood readiness programs, operated by Ingham ISD, designed to help local pre-schoolers and their families get off to the right start and prepare them for school.

Galileo offers a preschool program for children, ages 2 years 9 months through 5 years old, some who have special needs. There is a morning and an afternoon session 4 days/week. Both the morning and afternoon session have 15 children each with one teacher and one teacher’s assistant. High school students from Ingham ISD’s Capital Area Career Center (CACC) assist as well. Unique features of Galileo include:

  • High quality early childhood work site for the CACC high school students
  • Distinctive early childhood curriculum – inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy
  • Inclusive environment for children with special educational needs
  • Exceptional parent involvement
  • Collaborative community partnerships
Galileo is housed in a renovated farmhouse in the country at 2949 Sandhill Road in Mason, Michigan. For more information contact Nora Thompson at (517) 203-2784.
