Calling in an Absence
Regular attendance is a critically important work habit for students to develop at the Wilson Talent Center (WTC). Students are expected to be in attendance any day that it is possible. When a student is absent, it is critical to notify the WTC as quickly as possible. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the WTC attendance office when a student will be absent. This can be done by calling 517.244.1306. Absences that are not excused by a parent within 48 hours will be counted as a unexcused absence.
When a student will be absent due to an activity at their homeschool, they need to stop into the attendance office and pick up a Home School Activity Form. This form must be signed by a teacher, coach or administrator at their local high school. Home School activities are not counted as absences for the attendance policy.
Attendance will affect a student's work habit grade. Students are graded on 10 work habits each marking period. Work habits are 35% of a students grade.
