Compliance, Policies & Guidance

Ingham Intermediate School District (ISD) provides educational and technical support to school districts located within the region of Ingham County. The intent of the compliance guidance is to provide clarity and consistency with special education policies and procedures. The guidance will be updated as the Michigan Department of Education Office of Special Education (MDE OSE) makes revision to special education policies.

Ingham ISD Special Education Policies

The Special Education Policies Manual is a comprehensive resource that encompasses information and guidelines derived from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE), and the guidance provided by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). It is important to acknowledge that the manual is not static and will evolve alongside changes in legislation, regulations, and emerging research in the field of special education. Regular updates will be made to ensure that the content remains current and relevant to meet the needs of our diverse student population. The manual serves as a valuable tool for educators, administrators, service providers, and other stakeholders involved in the special education process.
