Ingham ISD's Special Education Classrooms at Heartwood School and Beekman Center
Heartwood School and Beekman Center, part of the Ingham ISD service area, provide specialized education for students ages 3 to 26 with moderate to severe impairments and autism spectrum disorders. Heartwood School is located on the Ingham ISD campus, while Beekman Center is in Lansing, Michigan. Both facilities serve children and adults with these needs. Staff members work with local school districts and families to create individualized programs for students, guided by the IEP process.
Substituting at Heartwood School or Beekman Center can be both challenging and rewarding. Some classrooms may require help with feeding, lifting, changing and toileting students. We are looking for substitute teachers and paraprofessionals to support both of these programs. Optional training sessions are offered quarterly through EduStaff for those interested. If you'd like more details, attending a training session is a great way to learn more before signing up.
